The opioid epidemic has opened up a massive scar across the country – with no region left untouched – but a couple of Cape Cod promoters and a whole lot of well-known musicians are trying to do something about it on a local level: They’re staging the Hope Music Festival at the Cape Cod Melody Tent on Wednesday.
For Hope, they landed former Grand Funk Railroad singer-guitarist Mark Farner, former Cars guitarist Elliot Easton, former Boston guitarist Barry Goudreau, one-time Johnny Winter guitarist Rick Derringer, and Winter producer-guitarist Paul Nelson, among many others.
